Ben completes his Clatterbridge abseil challenge!

This weekend, our very own Ben Leigh finally took on the Clatterbridge Abseil 2025, marking an incredible personal and fundraising achievement.

Originally planned for September but postponed due to poor weather, the event went ahead this weekend, giving Ben the chance to abseil down the very hospital where his cancer treatment began just one year ago.

Taking part in the abseil was no small feat for Ben. He’d never abseiled before and admitted he’s scared of heights, but he was determined to face the challenge as a personal milestone and as a heartfelt thank you to the hospital that played such a crucial role in his recovery.

Reflecting on the day, Ben said:

“It was scary on the roof, but I enjoyed it once I got over the edge and trusted the rope.”

The abseil was an incredible achievement, marking one year since he began his treatment journey, and thanks to everyone’s support, Ben also hit his fundraising target of £500 for the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. Those funds will help drive research, pioneering treatments, and patient care for cancer patients across the region.

Thank you to everyone who showed their support, and a huge congratulations to Ben for such a brilliant achievement!
