Meet the Team: Jamie McNally

In this edition of our Meet the Team series we’re introducing Jamie McNally, Senior Recruitment Consultant at MEP Resourcing. Since joining in November 2024 Jamie has brought energy, drive and a deep understanding of the M&E sector to the business.

Jamie’s career started with a combination of academic study and hands-on training. After studying Business and IT at Sixth Form he completed an apprenticeship with a heating and plumbing company while also achieving AAT Level 2 and 3 qualifications. It was during his time there that he began building a strong foundation in the construction industry. Eventually he made the move into recruitment where he spent 18 months at a specialist agency and set up his first M&E desk.

When the time came for a new challenge Jamie was introduced to MEP Resourcing through a recruitment-to-recruitment agency. He had multiple offers on the table but says the decision to join MEP was clear.

“I already knew that the M&E desk is the one for me in recruitment so MEP was a perfect match.”

Now working as Senior Recruitment Consultant Jamie focuses primarily on managing client relationships and developing business. He’s responsible for winning jobs and maintaining strong relationships with clients across the region while working closely with his colleague Luke who focuses on candidate management.

“I mostly manage our clients and BD. I try win jobs and then manage the client relations,” he explains.

One of the highlights of the role for Jamie is delivering a high-quality service while being directly involved in some of the North West’s biggest construction projects.

“Delivering a great service to clients, being part of some of the North West’s biggest projects and getting the chance to visit interesting projects” are the aspects he finds most rewarding.

Jamie enjoys the working culture at MEP too. The smaller team size means there’s a strong sense of collaboration and camaraderie.

“It’s a smaller sized team which is very close due to the size. A great balance of having a laugh with colleagues and working as a team to deliver a top service.”

The M&E sector is one that continues to interest him. He enjoys the diversity of the workforce and the importance of the roles they fill within the construction industry.

“It’s always interesting due to the diverse types of candidates we deal with, skilled and key workers to the construction industry.”

Working closely with clients has also become a rewarding part of his role. He sees himself as a key part of their longer-term planning and success.

“I enjoy being a part of their business strategy and helping them deliver on smaller and larger scale projects.”

When permanent roles come through Jamie also supports candidates, often helping them secure roles that have a lasting impact on their careers.

“If we have permanent vacancies I mostly work on these so it’s rewarding to help people secure jobs that they will likely spend the next few years in. Getting positive feedback where we feel we have really helped someone.”

Outside of work Jamie is a self-proclaimed football fanatic. He holds a season ticket at Liverpool FC and has made it a personal mission to visit as many stadiums as possible.

“I’ve travelled to 160 football stadiums and completed the 92 English football stadiums,” he says. When he’s not watching football he’s playing it, socialising with friends or travelling whenever he gets the chance.
